ARTICLE-2: Provision of assistance     [go to this ARTICLE]
... The Agency shall respond, in accordance with its Statute and as provided for in this Convention, to a requesting State Party's or a Member State's request for assistance in the event of a nuclear accident or radiological emergency by:
  1. making available appropriate resources allocated for this purpose;
  2. transmitting promptly the request to other States and international organizations which, according to the Agency's information, may possess the necessary resources; and
  3. if so requested by the requesting State, co-ordinating the assistance at the international level which may thus become available.

  1. preparing both emergency plans in the case of nuclear accidents and radiological emergencies and the appropriate legislation;

  3. transmitting requests for assistance and relevant information in the event of a nuclear accident or radiological emergency;
  4. developing appropriate radiation monitoring programmes, procedures and standards;
  5. conducting investigations into the feasibility of establishing appropriate radiation monitoring systems;
